He is the combination of 90s Sentai shows and Marvel’s Ironman. December is gone but I’m still in the holiday spirit. One Christmas film that stands the test of time is Jingle All The Way, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad. The film has a special place in my heart and you don’t have to wait until next year to watch it. Howard (Schwarzenegger), a father obsessed with work, forgot to buy his son the gift he wanted most.
It is ridiculously corny but in a charming way. There are jokes that haven’t aged well and a surprising amount of action for a comedy. Nostalgia oozes from every frame, from televised parades to traditional means of communication. When is the last time you saw a pay phone? Schwarzenegger is in prime goof mode, the funniest role I’ve ever seen him play.
Myron (Sinbad), is an unstable postal worker, and desperate father in search of a Turboman action figure. Throughout the whole story he undermined Howard and even used violence. The chemistry between Sinbad and Schwarzenegger is awesome. It’s a live action version of Tom & Jerry. This is a feel-good film the whole family can enjoy. I give Jingle All The Way an 8 out of 10.
