This movie was spectacular! It is the most faithful adaptation of the comic book. Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is a 15 year old kid trying to live a normal life and be a superhero. This movie does a great job in showing how hard it is to balance both. It tugs on the heart strings and keeps the adrenaline pumping. Spider-Man: Homecoming is a refreshing portrayal of a character we’ve all come to love over the years.
The supporting cast is really diverse. Tom Holland delivered an amazing performance as the wise cracking, web slinging, crime fighter. Michael Keaton was terrifying as the Vulture. I felt intimidated every time he was on-screen. Jacob Batalon did a great job as Ned, Peter Parker’s best friend. He added an additional layer of humor that made the entire movie hilarious. There were a lot of elements borrowed from the Black/Puerto Rican Spider-Man, Miles Morales.
This made me feel some type of way. I felt they borrowed so much from the character that they could have just told his story instead. We already have plenty of White male heroes in the Marvel universe. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and all the Easter eggs they dropped. It is a family friendly film that everyone should see. Plenty of cameos, jokes, and fight scenes to keep you entertained. Spider-Man: Homecoming gets a well-deserved 9 out of 10.
