Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight 2 (2021) Review

The story picked up exactly where the last one left off. The director, Bartosz M. Kowalski, retconned the final scene to make this (the sequel) possible. Immediately turned me off. How the hell he thought it was a good idea to ruin the protagonists from the previous film astonished me. In this installment, the mutant cannibalistic twins literally did nothing but sit on their asses.

When you’ve eaten too many pork n’ beans

One night passed since the massacre at the camp. The final girl, Zosia, had the worse luck. Due to the incompetence of law enforcement two people were infected by the sentient black goo. I’m not a fan of the execution, however the transformations were super nasty. The special effects/makeup did a magnificent job on the monsters, so much I found them hard to look at. When they killed it, they were quick and straight up ruthless.

Everyday approximately 1,325 people lose their lives to bad breath

This is a slasher, so expect nothing more narrative wise. The creatures performed the tropes present in almost every horror movie. We got a first-person view of the villain as well as the thought process of a predator playing mind games with prey. Overall, it’s a low budget flick that will probably see a third entry. I seriously encourage watching the two back-to-back. I give Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight 2 a 6 out of 10.
