Aliens (1986) Review

If I only had one word to describe Aliens, it would be tension. They really revved up the creepy horror element in this sequel. Even if you didn’t see the first film, the dialogue does a good job bringing you up to speed. The long head Xenomorphs are back and even scarier.

They aren’t like other predatory creatures that kill for sport, they have an agenda. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and a ragtag group of space marines are out to stop them. It’s a classic telling of the hunter becoming the hunted. The cinematography is eerie. Colors are saturated with blue hues, the scenes are often claustrophobic, and create a feeling of dread.

The story is simple, a bunch of humans trying to survive an alien threat. A threat that is big, stealthy, and acidic. How do you fight something like that? It’s what makes this movie so fun to watch. Aliens earned a 7 out of 10.
