Mr. Harrigan’s Phone (2022) Review

This is the wackiest Stephen King movie. Such a waste of time! Mr. Harrigan’s Phone has an amazing trailer and great cast. So much could have been done with the premise. A young man is befriended by a wealthy old man who continues to communicate with him after passing away. This is one among many botched King adaptations in the last decade. Starring Jaeden Martell from IT and IT: Chapter … Continue reading Mr. Harrigan’s Phone (2022) Review

10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) Review

John Goodman plays this role like the encore of his career. Never saw the actor portray such a creepy, disturbing character. 10 Cloverfield Lane is an impressive entry in the franchise. Loosely connected to the events of the original film, Cloverfield. This movie centers around a young woman being held captive in a doomsday bunker by a man who insists the air above ground is … Continue reading 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) Review

Uncle Peckerhead (2020) Review

The title of this movie is downright ridiculous. One must admire the courage to market a production called Uncle Peckerhead. This is an over-the-top horror comedy available to stream at no cost on Tubi. Commercials included of course. The story is as bonkers as the name suggests. An aspiring punk band makes a deal with a stranger to drive them to a gig, only to … Continue reading Uncle Peckerhead (2020) Review

Nope (2022) Review

Jordan Peele created something special with Nope. Surprisingly, no one is talking about it these days. Mixed reactions from critics upon its theatrical release cast a little skepticism. As the saying goes, “you can be a victim of your own success.” Peele set a precedent of multi-layered storytelling with complex plot threads, subliminal messages, and social commentary. Not surprised if viewers find this film to be … Continue reading Nope (2022) Review

The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007) Review

Before Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story took Netflix by storm, there existed a low-budget production called The Poughkeepsie Tapes. This comparison is not hyperbole. Directed by John Erick Dowdle, the found footage, documentary style film is about a fictional serial killer and his collection of VHS tapes. The story itself is mysterious, nerve wrecking, and available to stream on Prime Video. Definitely one for the … Continue reading The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007) Review

House of 1000 Corpses (2003) Review

This is a love letter to 1970s horror. Rob Zombie tells a story of two couples traveling through Texas in search of urban legends. As a result, they encounter a family of psychopaths. The plot is very simple and pays homage to films like the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Turn your brain off for this one as it is bizarre in nature and lacks an … Continue reading House of 1000 Corpses (2003) Review

The Black Phone (2022) Review

Ethan Hawke is extremely underrated. He’s a versatile performer capable of playing both a convincing hero and villain. In The Black Phone he plays the role of a child murderer named The Grabber. His performance is unpredictable and deeply unnerving. The director, Scott Derrickson, known for Doctor Strange and Deliver Us from Evil does not shy away from showing child abuse in this film. Kids can be evil assholes. This is highlighted in great detail with one of the main characters, Finney (Mason Thames), who is bullied both at home and in school. His younger … Continue reading The Black Phone (2022) Review

A clown with chalky white skin with a bulbous-shaped head. On the forehead are cracks and veins that resemble an eggshell. A sinister smile reveals sharp buck teeth. Two red streaks run from the corners of his mouth up his cheeks and pass his brows. Red plumes of hair stick out from the side of its head.
