V/H/S (2012) Review

I’m usually not a fan of found footage films, but V/H/S made me a believer. It’s an anthology film of some pretty fucked up stories. Perfect movie to watch when you have company over. There are jump scares. However, the most terrifying part is the reveal at the end of each short.

You may think you know how it’s going to end, but you don’t. There’s one major plot thread that binds each story. It’s not a gory film but it has some intense violence. No more than your average slasher, it is the first-person view that makes it so believable.

As the viewer, I felt I wasn’t supposed to be watching the “tape.” I felt nostalgic watching the scenes transition as if they were recorded over footage from a family video. You won’t regret picking this up if you’re into monsters, ghost, and all the spooky stuff. V/H/S gets a 8.5 out of 10.
