When I saw the first episode I thought to myself, “This is corny.” However, that’s not a bad thing. The Order carries the spirit of shows like Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Supernatural, and Charmed. It knows what type of show it is. Funny and full of young adult/teen romance sprinkled with over the top drama.
As a fan of such things, I didn’t mind the occasional dialogue that made me cringe. The characters are all witty. So expect lots of banter back and forth. The story centers around a guy named Jack in search of a secret organization. This involves him enrolling at a college where students are being murdered and no one seems to remember or care.
The cast is full of no name actors, at least to me. All of them very talented. The main character Jack has some decent range. What surprised me most about this show were the special effects. The monsters and werewolves looked awesome! There’s also some pretty cool kills. It’s definitely a Netflix series I can see sticking around if it stays the path. If you want to turn off your brain and see an R-rated, struggle budget Hogwarts, then this is for you. I give The Order a 7 out of 10.
