Tales From The Hood 3 (2020) Review

This one wasn’t on the “31 Days of Halloween” list I created. It appeared in my Amazon Firestick feed. I rented Tales From The Hood 2 a few years ago and it sucked giraffe balls. So I was hesitant to check this one out, but Tony Todd of Candyman fame won me over in the trailer.

What an unexpected surprise it was! Like the other films, it is an anthology. Four stories are told from the perspective of a small child. In addition to being the narrator, she is caught up in her own creepy story line. The characters or victims are somewhat one-dimensional but manage to have some serviceable moments. More than a few jump scares got me.

There were a few scenes where I felt the CG was used unnecessarily, which took me out the film. The monsters were menacing and there were more than a few twists. I have to say at the end of it all, I was left wanting more story and background on the characters. Tales From The Hood 3 keeps the franchise alive with a 6 out of 10.
