Knowing (2009) Review

Nicholas Cage is one of my favorite actors. You will put some respect on his name! In Knowing, he plays a college professor that discovers a record of world disasters. He spends the entire movie trying to prevent future calamities. Like most of these scenarios, no one believes him.

I love a good mystery and a sci-fi movie just as much. John (N. Cage) is an astrophysicist at M.I.T. and single father. He also appears to be a non-believer in anything outside of science. Events unfold that challenge his logic. From creepy stalkers that look malnourished to random disasters that just so happen to be in his local area.

It’s a movie in the vein of 2012 or The Day After Tomorrow. The CG and visuals are realistic. Some of the dialogue falls flat and you’ll find yourself questioning why the parents are so comfortable leaving their children alone. Still it manages to keep you intrigued with the mystery of if and how they can survive “the end of all things.” Knowing earned a 7 out of 10.
