Halloween (2018) Review

Hey! I’m back with a new review. This one is a bit different as this is a sequel/reboot. Halloween takes place 40 years after the original film from 1978. It does a great job in filling the blanks for newcomers. It centers around Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), a mature woman who’s struggling to overcome her past trauma.

That trauma is surviving the night “The Shape” killed three of her friends. Nick Castle reprises his role as Michael Myers and shares the role with stuntman/actor, James Jude Courtney. He’s a lot more gruesome and violent in this movie. He doesn’t discriminate and shows no mercy. I personally have never seen the character this deranged.

Jamie Lee Curtis delivered a dynamic performance as Laurie Strode, the virgin final girl turned gun-toting, grandma. If you love slasher flicks, this is for you. The kill scenes are brutal and graphic. I really loved this movie. Halloween gets an earnest 8.5 out of 10.
