Game Night (2018) Review

Who doesn’t love Jason Bateman? The guy is hilarious and has tremendous dramatic chops. Game Night is a breath of fresh air. It’s one of the funniest movies I’ve seen since Girls Trip. It’s an original story, which is rare in Hollywood these days. A group of friends get together for a night of competitive fun and things go horribly awry.

The cast includes Rachel McAdams, Kyle Chandler, Lamorne Morris, and other noticeable faces. It’s a really fun film to watch because you can’t distinguish what’s real or what is a part of the game. There’s twist and turns throughout that’ll keep you puzzled. I laughed literally like every 2-3 minutes. The dialogue is just hilarious.

Don’t be fooled. It’s not all kicks & giggles. Serious moments are woven throughout gracefully reminding the viewer that shit gets real. The narrative is concise and very well executed. I got a sense of rhythm watching it as the story unfolded hitting every beat. If you’re looking for a nice movie date with some laughs, this is your cup of tea. Leave the kids at home because this one is a raunchy rated-R. Game Night gets an 8 out of 10.
