One of the most bizarre shows I’ve seen this year! Akame ga Kill is like watching a Tarantino movie. It’s got profanity, extreme violence, sexual themes, and shocking deaths. At times I felt like I was watching Game of Thrones the way characters were being picked off.
In this world, dangerous beasts roam the land and citizens of the nation are at the mercy of a corrupt government. That’s where Night Raid comes into play. They are a rowdy assassin guild hell bent on murdering those who abuse their power. I advise you not get too attached though, as many of them meet gruesome fates.
Most of the characters, including the minor ones, are given depth and full backstories. This makes their deaths have meaning. As key players grow stronger so do their enemies. The power scaling in this show is one of the most balanced I’ve seen in a long time. Nobody comes off overpowered.
The anime is full of humor and innuendos. This is needed because the fights get pretty brutal. Night Raid is on a selfless crusade to improve conditions for others. I highly recommend you give this one a watch if you’re looking for mature anime content. Akame ga Kill gets a 7.5 out of 10.
