A Star Is Born (2018) Review

Didn’t expect to get the feels watching this film. A Star Is Born definitely earned it’s Academy Award. I was completely invested in the story and the journey of the two main characters. The songs were very memorable, Bradley Cooper was by far the biggest surprise to me. His vocals were pretty impressive.

In case you didn’t know, this movie is star studded from head to toe. Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Sam Elliot, Andrew Dice Clay, Anthony Ramos, and other guest appearances. This is a true romance flick of two musicians falling in love at first sight. One flourishes as the other suffers from affliction. It’s filled with great heart warming moments as well as deep cut drama that will make your eyes water just a bit.

So much chemistry between Cooper and Gaga! If I didn’t know any better I’d think they were a legit couple. The only downside to me was Cooper’s country accent. I could barely understand what the hell he was saying most of the time. It was like hearing a grizzly bear argue with a person. Gaga’s performance as a plain Jane gone Hollywood was very believable. I could relate to her insecurity and vulnerability. It’s a nice and concise narrative worth the 2 hour run-time. I give A Star Is Born an 8 out of 10.
