This is one of the most unique installments of the franchise. Not only is it a typical Freddy slasher, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 is a possession film. A family moves into the Elm Street house and experience paranormal activity. The teenage boy, Jesse, starts to sleepwalk and see visions of Krueger.
The version of Freddy we see in this film is less comical and a lot more menacing. He has a few lines of dialogue when on-screen. Robert Englund, who portrays Freddy, does a great job with his facial expressions and body language. His silhouette alone is creepy as hell.
There’s really only one scene where we get to see him truly shine. He physically manifests and attacks a group of teens. His power rose and waned many times in the film, which made him less of a threat. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 gets a 5 out of 10.
