The Story Monster Podcast – Episode 12: Chris Margetis of The Manson Bros Midnight Zombie Massacre

Do you like wrestling? I sure as hell do. However, there is one thing I love just as much, horror movies. So when I tell you this is the perfect love-child of the two, believe me. This movie is fuckin’ hilarious! The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre is over-the-top (pun intended) and insanely entertaining. I couldn’t stop laughing.

Certain jokes stayed with me, even after the scene was over. It’s not just a zombie flick with blood and gore, although there’s plenty to go around. The cinematography is impressive, it embodies the gritty aesthetic of the indie wrestling scene. I was grossed out by the condition of the talent locker room.

No surprise a zombie virus started there. Eagle-eyed viewers will appreciate the attention to detail, as there are a ton of humorous posters in the background. The pacing of the film was meticulous. After a horrifying murder, some light-hearted jokes were thrown in to relieve the tension. It is a nice rhythm of violence, comedy, and wit.

The zombies are scary as shit too. They’re extremely muscular and incredibly agile. It’s like the universe flipped the bird on the whole audience. This movie is full of charm and images that will haunt your dreams. I give The Manson Bros Midnight Zombie Massacre a 7.5 out of 10.
