Apocalypse Man is a sweet, short, and impactful story. It’s a personal narrative set in a dystopian world where some kind of affliction turns people into monsters. I’m not talking about creatures you’d see in Power Rangers, DreamWorks animation, or a Disney program. These are full-blown Lovecraftian monsters that are hideous as hell and downright terrifying! The insane art gives them an organic movement which really makes them pop off the page. It’s chaotic, detailed, and over-the-top.
Definitely not one for the kiddies, unless you want to traumatize them for life. This appears to be a one off with a potential sequel. The writing is clever and smash mouth. It is a gem worth picking up. I had the pleasure of meeting these guys a few times on the comic convention circuit, as I love supporting indie creators.
